Every so often, someone special comes into your life and blesses you with their circumstances. Here is an amazing WOW! Story:
Miranda Styles-teacher, cheerleader coach, wife and new mom!
I've known Miranda and her husband, Wesley, for several years now. Wesley was my son's (Josh) highschool wrestling coach and Miranda, my daughter's (Sharon) cheerleader coach. Our families have become true friends. They have been trying for years to become pregnant with several heartaches. 5 months ago they were blessed with little precious Ava. With all the complications of her pregnancy, Miranda was placed on bed rest most of her pregnancy and Wesley stepped in to help out. Even with all the potential excuses they both have, they have made a committment to eachother to place value on their health and fitness. Miranda comes to train with Female and Fitness without skipping a beat while Wesley watches little Ava! A true example of a lady/mom/wife/career person who has overcome every excuse. Female and Fit wants to congratulate Miranda & Wesley for their dedication to themselves, eachother and the little package of joy.

5 TIPS FOR THIN HIPS

1-Portion Control:
Americans like their size portions larger than other nationalities. Rule of Thumb: Protein equals palm size. Complex Carbohydrates equal palm or fist size. Simple Carbohydrates equal (well...read the labels.)
2-Read Labels:
Many times food packaging is deceptive. A protein bar maybe just the ticket to satisfy our hunger pains. However, that protein bar maybe 2 servings. Read the labels to make sure what the serving size is.
3-Eat 6 Square Meals:
Forget what your mother told you (this one time)! It is better to eat 6 small meals throughout the day. There are several advantages to this; insulin stays at optimum levels throughout day, hunger level is decreased, binge eating is withdrawn. Take your daily calories and divide by 6 to determine your caloric intake per meal.
4-Keep a Food Journal:
I know. I know. This is tedious and who has time? I keep the journal in my purse, in my bag, at the house, in my desk, in my car and so on. At the end of the day, look at what you have accomplished or what needs to be worked on. Be sure to put down your moods while eating.
5-Eat your calories, don't drink your calories. Many protein drinks, alcholic drinks, soft drinks and so on have added calories or "other" ingredients not wanted or needed in our nutrition plan.

I love creating new recipes and I was excited to be able to create a recipe book to help you achieve your fitness goals. Let’s admit, one of the hardest parts of losing weight is choosing the right foods to eat and most of the time the “allowed” foods aren’t something you jump out of bed for.
I’ve been cooking full meals since I was eight and had the opportunity to grow up in a home where I was surrounded by good food and a Mom who spent years teaching me her culinary craft. About seven years ago, I began having health problems that were debilitating. After many years of tests and numerous drugs I came to find out that my problems were caused by the pesticides, herbicides, and hormones found in our food supply. As soon as I began eating foods that were organic, my health problems disappeared, and I am happy to tell you that I am off of all of my medications. Since then, my passion for organic cooking has exploded. I began an organic cooking blog, started teaching cooking classes, and I also wrote a cookbook which will be released in the fall of 2010.
Last year, while trying to attain my own fitness goals, Erik told me all about certain foods to combine (or not combine) that would speed up my weight loss. I began eating just as he told me, and had great results. There were many times I came home and thought, “OK, now I need a protein/fat combination meal and I really don’t want a piece of turkey and some berries again.” I’ll bet you’ve had similar thoughts and hopefully this book can eliminate that problem for you.
